Twenty-six circuit court races were decided in Florida's August 26 primary, while another 10 resulted in runoffs. Of a dozen county judge races, 10 were decided and two resulted a runoffs for November. The race that produced the most nail-biting was the Group 23 race in the 15th Circuit, where initial vote tallies gave incumbent Richard Wennet an 18-vote margin over challenger William Abramson, or 45,256 to 45,238. That triggered an automatic recount, as well as a tabulation of provisional ballots.
